Data Advocacy

I am the founder of a Singapore-based data advocacy initiative called Data Rakyat.

Data Rakyat is a project committed to democratising data. We aim not only to advocate for the everyday Singaporean (the rakyat), but also to equip them with the numerical literacy they need to advocate for themselves. I conduct original quantitative research on current affairs topics, and present them to the public through sassy short-form videos and articles.

If you are interested in checking our work out, the full Substack/website is: datarakyat.sg.

If you are too lazy to visit another page (I understand), some of our highlights are:

  • Analysis of Singapore’s electoral boundaries for the 2025 General Election (Tiktok)

  • Analysis of Singapore’s train reliability (Tiktok and Substack)

  • Review article on Food Insecurity in Singapore (Substack)

This has been a passion project months in the making, and I am so grateful that I get to combine two of my passions (math and education) to give back to my community.
